The Rev.Kije Rwamasirabo was our celebrant and preacher on Sunday, August 13, 2023.
Kije is a Philly girl, born and raised in Philadelphia, spent most of her life growing up on the city outskirts in Delaware County by her mother, who single-handedly raised two amazing daughters: Kije and her baby and only sister, Angelica.
Kije absolutely loves to tell a good story and spent over twenty years of her first career in broadcast journalism in the United States, Uganda and Rwanda respectively, covering stories all over the world including the genocide in Darfur, liberation of the airwaves in Rwanda and more.
About 23 years ago, Kije heard the call of the Holy Spirit asking her what it would be like if she were to become ordained in the Church! She spent the next five years in discernment and in 2005 it was clear that she was indeed called to serve God. In the spring of 2013, Kije heard the voice of the Holy Spirit say that this was time to begin the journey toward ordination.
Kije has been ordained in God’s one Holy and apostolic church for four years this past July, 2023. Kije has served as Curate at St. George’s by the River in Rumson, New Jersey for three years where she was ordained to the Priesthood. And now she serves as School Chaplain and Religious Studies teacher at St. Anne’s Episcopal School in Middletown.
Kije gives all the Glory to God from whom all blessings flow for making a way for her to serve him and at the same time being blessed with her beloved husband Patrick with whom together they have shared their life in marriage for fifteen years. Kije gives all the Glory to God for blessing them with their two children.
Kije enjoys being with her loved ones and her African heritage deeply. She likes to pray, listen to music and drive on long beautiful journeys.
