The Readings
Like other denominations, the Episcopal Church follows a schedule of daily readings from the Bible. By reading a bit from the Bible every day, we read most of it every three years. Click here to see the schedule of readings, also called “The Liturgical Calendar” or “The Lectionary”.

A Call For Daily Prayer Readers
There is no such thing as too many prayers or too many pray-ers. Please take some time to consider joining our prayer team as an Officiant, a fancy name for Leader. We take turns reading the “Daily Office,” the official name for daily prayer for specific hours of the day; and we do that live on the Parish Facebook page every Monday through Saturday. It’s an ancient form of communal prayer, and we are joining with Christian pray-ers all over the world who are praying.
It’s easy to do, the words are all in the Prayer Book, and anyone of us can teach you how it’s done right from your home computer! Each prayer time of the Daily Office, depending on what you bring to it, takes about 20-25 minutes. The Service of Compline (kom-plin), night prayer, takes even less time or slightly more depending on what you decide to add as you gain experience. We have a monthly schedule that can be arranged for each individual and we are all always ready to sit in for another member who has a conflict such as vacation, or illness, or an unexpected commitment elsewhere.
Feel free to contact any one of the Officiants listed above for more information on how to participate in this Ministry of Prayer and Worship, drawing us, each other, and all who tune in to watch and participate, closer to Christ. If you would like to volunteer and be the leader of a prayer service, or simply have more questions about the Daily Office itself, please click here to reach out to us.
