About Sacred Jazz at SsAM
Sacred Jazz plays an important role in the musical offerings at The Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew. The focus of the program is a regular series of Jazz Vespers featuring guest artists as well as musicians from The Whitney Project let by our artist-in-residence, Jonathan Whitney. Other jazz programs hosted by SsAM have included a memorial Jazz Vespers for Helen Thomas, a Jazz Brunch, various Jazz concerts, and “The Best of Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concerts” presented in collaboration with the City of Wilmington and the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival.
