Father David’s blog post of April 30, 2021 — A special shout out to David Christopher, the parish Associate for Liturgy and Music! Last month marked the twentieth year that David has been at the Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew. Thank You David for all that you have accomplished and have been to all of us the last twenty years.
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises. Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody. With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord.”
Psalm 98:4-6
On a personal note, I am so grateful for David’s knowledge, wisdom and leadership of the choir since my arrival in the winter of 2010. David has been a blessing to me and to many of the parish community and I encourage you to express your thanks directly to David.
There has been so much happening the last several months in recognition of the 25th anniversary of the parish, that we have not had time to publicly celebrate David’s time at SsAM. I will be working with David and a small committee to plan a fuller celebration sometime in the late summer or early fall. David, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all you have done and will continue to do for all of us. That is to continue the rich tradition of choral music that is expansive and inclusive of many traditions and fills our hearts and minds with beauty and moves us to go out into the world to be the hands, the feet and the voices of Christ in this world. Once we decide on the type of celebration, I will communicate the plan with the parish.
Take The Survey!
The “Present” sub-committee of our 25th Anniversary celebration needs your help: Early this week, a survey was sent to members of the parish to complete by May 17. I completed mine as soon as I received the email and I hope and encourage you to complete and return it as soon as possible. The Present sub-committee wants to hear from you, and I hope you will help them as we continue our celebration of twenty-five years as a parish.
25th Anniversary Celebration Continues
Emily and I are looking forward to the 25th Anniversary Zoom call this Sunday, May 2, at 3:00 p.m. featuring Lutheran Community Services. Our own Athena Jolly will also share the great ministry we are doing related to food banks.
Peace,
Fr. David+, OA
