October 9, 2022
To SsAM members and supporters:
The Stewardship Committee wishes to inform you about the 2023 Stewardship Campaign here at SsAM and encourage your prayerful participation.
This year we have developed a seven-week campaign to align with the seven weeks of the Season Of Creation. Our stewardship theme this year is taken from the Diocese, “Behold, we are about to do a new thing.” Starting on Sunday, October 9, you will see and hear a new message each week from an individual and/or group here at SsAM. These messages will come as recorded short testimonials as well as written messages in the Weekly Vision. You will also be able to access them via our website and our Facebook page.
Stewardship provides a foundation for our parish ministries — music, feeding the hungry, and advocacy — to name a few. Our stewardship is essential if our church is to achieve its vision and meet the challenge of spreading Christ’s Word and our faith. Stewardship is an opportunity to examine our priorities and values, express our thankfulness, give of ourselves, and grow in grace. We renew our commitment to SsAM through our time, talent and treasure.
This year’s stewardship campaign seeks 100% participation rather than a monetary goal. That means participation in the broadest sense whether it be financial, as a volunteer, or active involvement in a ministry.
On the back side of this letter you will find giving suggestions and a pledge form. Please fill it out and mail it in using the enclosed return envelope. If you prefer, place your envelope in the offering plate during worship on Sunday morning.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to any member of the committee or to the parish administrator.
Please don’t delay, the campaign is short. The campaign will end November 20, 2022.
This is a new and exciting time for SsAM. With 25 years behind us, we are in transition — coming out of a pandemic; embracing new ministries and new ways of worship; and searching for a new rector.
Let us take this moment of transition to recommit to SsAM and each other, “to be an inclusive Christian community which worships God, follows Christ in all aspects of our lives, and serves the greater Wilmington area through actions and ministries which promote Peace, Justice, Reconciliation and Empowerment for all people.”
We thank you for your participation in advance and look forward to the year ahead together.
In humble service,
—The Rev. James M. Bimbi, Sharon Leyhow, Patty Greene, Dan Edgar, John Goodill, and Danny Schweers
