Vestry

The vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters pertaining to its corporate property. New vestry members, usually four, are elected at the annual meeting in June. In all, twelve vestry members serve at any one time, in staggered 3-year terms. The presiding officer of the vestry is the rector. There are two wardens. The senior warden leads the parish between rectors and is a support person for the rector. The junior warden often has responsibility for church property and buildings. The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation, to support the church’s mission by word and deed, to select the rector, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances. Vestry Goals

In 2014, the Vestry chose four strategic goals that it continues to pursue:

  1. To strengthen and grow Youth and Young Families;
  2. To create a sustainable financial picture;
  3. To provide engaging worship that is rich and meaningful and brings people back; and
  4. To continue the tradition of being intentionally an inclusive and diverse faith community that celebrates its relationships with each other and the larger community.
