The Importance of Getting Vaccinated:
The vestry of SsAM and I strongly recommend that you schedule a COVID-19 vaccination when you can.
We are a community of faith that knows the love of Jesus and that love calls us to reach out and care for one another. The 11th Guiding Principle approved in 1994 by the vestries of Saints Andrew and Saints Matthew states: “We will use our resources in ways that strengthen both our faith community and the surrounding community.”
If you have any questions or concerns about being vaccinated, please reach out to me and I will connect you with one of our many members who are health care professionals. They will be willing and able to answer your questions and speak with you about your concerns. Remember that we are all in this together and look forward to the day when we can all regather safely on Sunday mornings.
Though the news about the COVID-19 pandemic has improved the last few days, we still need to be vigilant against the virus by continuing to be socially distant, wear face masks, and practice good hygiene such as washing our hands.
Next Wednesday, February 17, is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. It will not be like previous years. If you have not done so please, bring your palms by the church no later than noon on Tuesday, February 16. (The church office is open Tuesday morning beginning at 8:30 a.m. It is not open on Monday). The palms will be burned Tuesday afternoon.
On Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m., I will be on the sidewalk next to Shipley Street to give you a plastic container to take home with you so you can administer ashes at home with family members.
I invite everyone to then to watch the Ash Wednesday pre-recorded service at noon on Facebook and YouTube.
Please continue to be safe and healthy this coming week and continue to pray for and reach out to one another.
