Father David calls everyone to get vaccinated.

Father David’s post of March 19, 2021 — On Sunday, March 28, 2021, we begin the holiest week of the church year with Palm Sunday, also known as Passion Sunday. After observing Holy Week, we will celebrate the Feast of the Resurrection on Sunday, April 4, Easter Day. Click here to learn more about our services during Holy Week and Easter Day.

For the last year it has often felt that we have lived the tragedy of Good Friday each and every day as the pandemic raged. There is hope now that we just might be coming out of the pain and the despair of the last year. Resurrection this year might have a whole new meaning for us as more and more people get vaccinated. Dr. Anthony Fauci has warned Americans that it is not quite time to celebrate, but we are so close!

It is my hope that in the coming weeks the parish will become a place where COVID-19 vaccinations will be administered to folks in our neighborhood and parish. Becoming a vaccination site is a process. I will provide more information about that process when I know more.

Do not wait to get your vaccination! There are plenty of vaccination sites throughout New Castle County that are open now! I encourage every member of SsAM to do so now. Do not wait for SsAM to open as a vaccination site. If you need assistance of any kind, please let us know.

I met recently with a small group of parishioners to start up our health ministry. I will be leaning on them to help me get the word out about the importance of getting a shot in your arm.

I will also be meeting with our Pastoral Care Ministry. I will ask them to reach out to all our members to (1) ask if they have received at least their shots, (2) to encourage folks who have not to do so, and (3) to offer assistance.

This effort is parish wide. If you would like to help with this effort, please call me at 302 521-7738 or send me an email.

New life is on the way! Not yet, but soon! Let us as a community rise to new life and new hope in the coming months.

Peace,
Fr. David+, OA
