In the first months of 2021, SsAM formed a Men’s Fellowship Ministry for the purposes of promoting fellowship among the men of the church and to organize service projects that benefit the parish and the community.
The group has decided to connect via Zoom at 2:00 p.m. on each third Saturday of the month. The February meeting involved seven attendees, which increased to nine at the March meeting, so the committed membership is growing.
We are planning a few fellowship activities, like a men’s retreat and a trip to Odessa for a tour and lunch.
Potential service projects include work with the SsAM Property Committee to refurbish the two church gardens and work toward community engagement in some significant ways. One additional initiative that crosses over between fellowship and service is the formation of a SsAM Men’s Chorus, comprised of music readers and non-readers who want to sing to the glory of God.
We will send out a link for our April 17 Zoom meeting to the men in our directory for whom we have email addresses. Stay tuned! If you have questions about the group, please contact Bob Young or Danny Schweers.
In the photo above, pre-pandemic, we see the military veterans of the church blessing a young man about to enter the U.S. Army.
