What questions do we have about creating a sustainable financial picture for SsAM?
Members of SsAM met after the 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday services on September 28, 2019 to create a set of questions about how our church’s finances can be more sustainable. These questions will be put to the Finance Committte, which will answer as many as time allows at our town-hall meetings after the 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday, October 27, 2019 .
- To strengthen and grow Youth and Young Families;
- To create a sustainable financial picture;
- To provide engaging worship that is rich and meaningful and brings people back; and
- To continue the tradition of being intentionally an inclusive and diverse faith community that celebrates its relationships with each other and the larger community.
Members attending previous town hall meetings in September, 2019 concerned themselves with the other goals. This one dealt with goal number 2 — creating a sustainable financial picture.
Each year at this time, our church, like many others, asks its members to make financial pledges for the coming year. Part of the process is to answer questions. If you look at the five photos on this page, you will see the questions we came up with, written in felt-tip marker on large sheets of paper. (Click on any image to see it larger.) We did not try to answer these questions or debate their merit. What we were looking for was a list of questions for the Finance Committee to answer.
