SsAM i AM – Rethinking Stewardship One Pillar At A Time

SsAM i AM - Rethinking Stewardship One Pillar At A Time

As 2019 comes to a close, we are looking again at our church’s four guiding principles, the four strategic principles set by our Vestry in 2014, the four pillars guiding our stewardship:

  1. To strengthen and grow Youth and Young Families;
  2. To create a sustainable financial picture;
  3. To provide engaging worship that is rich and meaningful and brings people back; and
  4. To continue the tradition of being intentionally an inclusive and diverse faith community that celebrates its relationships with each other and the larger community.

SsAM I AM Pledge Campaign FishPledge Results To Date:

So far we have received pledges of $322,152 from 100 pledging units as of December 4, 2019. We thank God for your generosity! We are 70% of our way toward our goal of $460,000.

Results of our Town Hall Meetings:

Click here to see posts about our recent Town Hall Meetings in which members asked questions about our four pillars of stewardship and offered answers.

We begin talking about stewardship with an honest reflection on how we might lead a more generous life. Generosity is not simply giving our money and time. It encompasses who we are as individuals and how we actively care for our neighbors and our church. That is one definition of stewardship: caring in action.

In September, 2019,  we had three town hall meetings to discuss our generosity and how it relates to the Four Pillars. Following those discussions, commitment cards were  distributed in church each week in October. In November we celebrated the commitments you and others have made.

We invite you to join us as stewards of SsAM.  The town hall meetings did connect us more strongly with the church’s operating budget and the realities of the daily workings at SsAM. We welcome long-time members and newcomers who wish to join us.

SsAM I AM echoes the importance that stewardship should occur throughout the calendar year. As a beacon of hope and love for the community, we give of our time, talent, and treasure to assist the parish. Thank you, in advance, for the gifts. We pray that the year’s end will be a holy and prayerful time for you and your family.
