New Sudan Blog

Judi Gregory was recently named an Episcopal representative to a United Nations event.

Judi Gregory said, “I am now ready to share my enthusiasm for the church in Sudan and Southern Sudan, Africa by posting on my blog. Click here to learn more about our relationship to the wonderful people in these often troubled countries.”

Judi, representing the Episcopal Church, was selected as one of 20 representatives to the United Nations celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2016. That is, she is a representative of the “Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society of the Episcopal Church.”  She says, “Am I excited! And so honored!”

The 2016 theme for International Women’s Day was “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality”. The United Nations observance on 8 March, 2016 reflected on how to accelerate the 2030 Agenda for gender equality, building momentum for the effective implementation of the new Sustainable Development Goals. It will equally focus on new commitments under UN Women’s Step It Up initiative, and other existing commitments on gender equality, women’s empowerment and women’s human rights.
