Since June 19, 2020, we have been sponsoring monthly first-Friday Walks for Justice and Peace in downtown Wilmington, Delaware at 5:30 p.m. These marches are hosted collaboratively with First & Central Presbyterian Church.
The walks continue on the first Friday of each month. After gathering on the steps of First & Central for a brief time of reflection and prayer, we walk silently to Saints Andrew and Matthew for concluding remarks and prayer.
Social distancing is observed and all participants are required to wear masks. We invite other Wilmington communities of faith to join with us in this public statement for justice.

With the end of daylight savings, this was our first walk at night, each of us carrying small battery-powered plastic candles, a symbol of the light we hope to shine in the darkness. As usual, we met at First & Central Presbyterian Church near Rodney Square in Wilmington, Delaware. Then we walked down Market Street, past the Grand Opera House, then turned right at 8th Street to arrive at Saints Andrew & Matthew Episcopal Church for a brief ending prayer in the parking lot next to the church.
