At the end of March, 2020, the Vestry approved a revised operating budget for 2020, reflecting the anticipated impact of COVID-19. Since then, several items in the budget have changed significantly. We have more realistic, lower estimates of investment income from our endowments, and the parking lot. The Vestry policy, not to use the Endowment Fund to operate the church, continues. We have also received an $86,905 federal SBA – Payroll Protection Program Loan that we hope will be forgiven as part of the federal economic response.
Also, the Finance Committee, in conjunction with the Property Committee, is creating a capital budget for 2020 and beyond. The budget will identify our physical plant needs as well as non-physical needs like funding our endowment or mission/ministry funds. A key portion of the funding sources to carry out these projects with depend on the generous gifts by you, our parishioners.
