2016 Summer Camp with the St. Cecilia Girls Choir

SUMMER DAY CAMP – July 25 through 29

Summer Camp 2016-1

WHO SHOULD ATTEND – The camp is designed for singers in grades 5 through young adult (21 yrs) who are looking for a challenging choral music experience that will help develop their voices and musicianship skills, as well as an opportunity to meet new friends, have fun, and work with some of the area’s finest musicians and educators.  Girls of all faith traditions and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to participate.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS – Since there is a large quantity of music that will be learned and performed, advanced singers must have strong music reading skills and/or the ability to adequately prepare the music in advance.  Beginning and intermediate level singers will receive more musical and vocal training and participate in daily choral evensong on a limited basis.

AUDITION – Singers may need a recommendation from a music teacher or choral director, and will be scheduled for a “hearing” to determine vocal timbre, range and level of musicianship.  Recommendations may be sent by e-mail to SaintCeciliaGirlsChoir@gmail.com.
